Toddler Boy Ties

Incredible Costume Ideas For A Western-themed Party Dressing up for a party with a western theme is a cinch. Key garments youll need are probably already hanging in your closet. For accessories, thrift and costume shops carry a range of options for you and your kids. Cowboy hats, chaps, neckerchiefs, bolo ties, leather belts and even boots are often available, with different colors and styles on the racks.
But which pieces do you put together? Heres a breakdown of some looks you can work with if youre strapped for time and cash:
Channel Daisy Duke with short denim cutoff shirts and a plaid shirt. Wear your hair in a well-brushed ponytail. Finish it off with a straw cowgirl hat and western-style belt buckle.
Pair your denim skinny jeans with a fitted button-front shirt and a fancy jewel-embellished buckle to get that rodeo queen appeal. Take it up a notch by buying a lasso and a pair of chaps, which you can wear from the belt downward. Cowboys originally used chaps to protect themselves from sticker bushes and other elements.
Go casual with a denim miniskirt or khaki pants. Slip into a tight-fit white shirt accessorized with a black vest and bolo tie. If you want to stand out, style your hair in ringlets and apply red lipstick. You can also get a red tea towel and wear this as a neckerchief. Continue the red theme with a pair of boots in that color. Costume shops offer low-priced rubber versions, which may not be suitable for everyday use, but are good enough for a night of partying.
Dress up in a prairie skirt that is long, but no floor-length. This way, you can still show off your cowgirl boots.
Pay homage to sheriffs through a western-style shirt, fringed leather pants and cowboy hat ensemble. For a more contemporary feel, add a leather jacket. But dont forget the key elements: a leather badge, holster and water gun. All three you can easily purchase from a costume or toy store.
Think pop culture and icons. Dress up your children as a country music artist, may it be McGraw, Kenny Chesney or Garth Brooks. Or take your cue from The Lone Ranger. Just have them put on kids cowboy hats and the rest of the look will follow.
Want an alternative to the cowboy and cowgirl getup? Consider Indian-inspired costumes such as those from the Pocahontas movie. A sleeveless leather top matched with pants in the same material will be perfect for men. For women, a leather blouse and short skirt will do the trick. Accessorize with beaded necklaces and bracelets. You can also opt to wear a hand- or armband adorned with a feather. Finish the look off by slipping on native-style slippers or moccasins. For a fun touch, consider incorporating face paint or makeup, and body henna.
When deciding on your costume, think beyond style. Consider which pieces make you feel comfortable. And go for the look that you know you can pull off with confidence. Lastly, dont be afraid to buck convention and try something new and crazy.

QUESTION:
Sewing Question: Where can I purchase the little clips for making toddler size or young boys' size ties?
If you are familiar with little boys' clip on ties, there is a triangular piece with a metal bar that holds the tie's knot's shape and attaches it to the dress shirt. I make ties and have to change out the clips everytime. I want to purchase a bunch so that we can have many ties ready to go at a time. ANY SUGGESTIONS?
I am specifically looking for the necktie type of clip-on clips...not for the bowtie.... I forgot to mention that before.
I checked with Greenberg & Hammer, Inc. and they do not have them...
Thank you for the suggestion, however.I asked this question because I have exhausted all the possibilities I can think of....Joann's Fabric, I've Googled it many ways, etc.
If any of you have seen these ANYWHERE, please let me know.
Thank you for the answers. Before I vote, I wanted to add one more bit of information that someone might need should they search Answers for their own answer to this questions:
Our local craft store, as well as a few friends, suggested that I search thrift stores for old clip-on ties and cut the notions out it them to use (one friend even does this for zippers). I found out that they are not manufactured in America, so I searched Chinese tie factories.
I emailed the tie companies in China...one was very willing to make me some ties, but not interested in selling me the clips.
So, I figure that if you ever find them in the store, buy them up and sell them on ebay or etsy to seamstresses! Otherwise, use a strap with velcro to attach the clip-on-ish tie to (that is what I have been doing when I didn't want to take another clip out of another tie), or find some at a thrift shop. Good Luck!-
ANSWER:
Check out http://www.greenberg-hammer.com/store.asp?CatID=12They have bow-tie clips in different styles including clip-on and slide. Unfortunately no images showing on these items.
You might want to check with them if any of those is similar to what you want.

Edit to add:
Yes, i know you want those clips for "clip-on tie", not bow-tie, but i can't find one on the internet that is selling those. Hence i recommend you to check with the store owner if they carry those or know where to get it.I am sorry i can't help.

QUESTION:
Does toddler boy NEED to wear a suit to uncle's formal wedding?
We are attending my brother's formal wedding in a few weeks. Is my son, who is 1 1/2, expected to wear a suit? I had him try one on and he threw a huge fit, pulling and tugging at his shirt and tie. I would rather him be comfortable at the wedding and not cause a scene but everything I read suggests no matter what age, children should be dressed formally. What are your thoughts? Well dressed irritable toddler vs a content and happy one in a pair of khakis and polo shirt? Thanks for your input!
PS - He is not in the wedding party-
ANSWER:
Jaded bugger off.. There is absolutely nothing wrong with children going to a wedding, unless the invitation specifically says adult reception only.No I personally don't think he needs to wear a suit. There's nothing wrong with khakis and a polo shirt. No ones going to notice really or care

QUESTION:
room themes for a baby/toddler girl and a newborn boy?
my daughter will be 11 months when her brother is born so probably just over a year when she will start sharing her room with him. i want their room to be fun. i think i am going to keep the wall where her crib will be pink and paint the one where he will go more of a boy color and accent whatever i get with pink on her side and blue on his. but i don't know how to tie the two together into one room, and i definitely want to figure out some way to do that. i hate the whole "neutral gender" rooms like circus or safari. if you could leave links to bedding ideas that would be AMAZING. any ideas??-
ANSWER:
you can always put up a cloth divider up in the middle of the two colors, to indicate the separation of the room.or
put up decorations like wall decals possibly.
Good Luck and Congrats!

QUESTION:
Anyone else's toddler go crazy when he's tired?
My son is almost 2 1/2. He has been fighting his naps lately, and has skipped many of them in the last few weeks.Today he skipped his nap, and starting at about 4pm he just went nuts. Climbing on furniture, scooting on the floor, running back and forth down the hall, opening every cabinet in the kitchen, screaming, standing on the recliner and rocking it till it just about tips over, chattering non-stop, following me around like he is tied to me with a 2 foot rope....omg...my heart was litterally racing by the time i finally got dinner in him and got him to bed. He just about made his momma crazy! I cant believe how many times I must have said "stop, quit it, go sit down, calm down! Ok, now that's enough! STOP STOP STOP STOP!"
How in the world do parents stay sane? Single parents, at that.. Oh and Im about to have another little boy. All I can do is pray they keep each other occupied. LOL
Anyone else's toddler react this way when they get overly tired? Or is mine just nuts. lol (I say this with love, of course.)
