Toddler Spring Dresses
Clothing Terminology
Just as clothing fashions have changed over the years, so has much of clothing terminology. The words that were once used to describe certain articles of clothing have been changed to mean something else, or else the clothes have changed or been discarded altogether, along with their names. A gown was once a dress; now the word usually refers to either a ball gown, dressing gown, or other specific items such as hospital gown.
Just as important as the names of items are the names used to define their style. For instance, collars were around in the olden days and still are, but there are many different kinds of collars and their names reflect this; e.g. the Peter Pan collar, known for its rounded points. Other items are often named for the people who made them popular. An example is the popular cardigan. British soldiers first wore these knitted jackets with front buttoning, so they were named after the 7th Earl of Cardigan who led the Charge of the Light Brigade in the Crimean war.
Some clothing names such as the balaclava and the Hawaiian shirt, have been derived from the country of origin. A more modern trend is to shorten the names of clothing items. The words that were once used to describe certain articles of clothing have been changed to mean something else, or else the clothes have changed or been discarded altogether, along with their names. A gown was once a dress; now the word usually refers to either a ball gown, dressing gown, or other specific items such as hospital gown. We now refer to a cami rather than a camisole, while a hooded jacket is simply a hoodie.

QUESTION:
How to dress my toddler in spring?
We have had days that are 87 degrees, it is ok the dress my child in shorts. Another question, is it safe to play with the hose when it is that warm in spring. My mother has always said spring is pneumonia weather and no matter how hot do not play in the water outside.-
ANSWER:
PEOPLE! Weather does not cause pneumonia! GERMS caues pneumonia, as well as every other sickness! If it is warm out, let your child wear shorts and play in the water, just be aware that the water won't be as warm as in the summer (when the sun has had many days to heat it up in the pipes/pool) so your child may get cold easier. If she gets cold, wrap her up in a towel and take her in to change into dry clothes. Use your common sense!

QUESTION:
The little underpants that come with infant/toddler dresses~What are they called? Where can I find them?
My daughter is 18 months old and just inherited a load of spring dresses. I am trying desperately to find those little diaper covers to buy separately, in a variety of colors, for her to wear under these dresses because it looks much nicer without the diaper showing all the time! I don't need the plastic covers for cloth diapers. I have googled this, yahoo searched it, ebay and a few others and can't find anything! So I'd like to know if anyone knows if they even sell them separately from a dress, and if so, maybe a few places to look for them! Sorry if I'm rambling, I've been in front of this computer forever it seems to no avail..........Thanks for all your help!!-
ANSWER:
They're called bloomers and I don't think you can buy them seperately. I know you can in botique stores but they're usually white and lacey, and pricey. If you have any thrift stores or yard sales in your area, look for dresses (even with stains) with bloomers. If you don't like the dresses, you can trash them, its the bloomers you want anyway. I did this for my daughter last year. Its amazing even how one pair of bloomers will go with many dresses. You can also look on ebay. Another idea? (for the casual dresses)Cut off a pair of her jeans from this past winter/fall and you can make them capri's or bloomers. Cut them to the desired length and then roll them up a bit. Its really cute and goes with anything really. Good luck!

QUESTION:
Toddler dress question?
what kind of dress u buy for ur toddler(girl) in spring or summer, and what do u think how many dresses she should have for going outside?-
ANSWER:
My daughter is going to be 2 in june and I buy her like sundresses and skorts and skooters. Anything thats going to be durable and easy to wash. She has around 10 sundresses. Depending on what you're planning on doing with her like if shes just hanging around the house than I would go for like a handful because sometimes its easier just to throw them in shorts and a top. But if you are planning on taking her to visit people or bbqs and stuff I would go for more. But I would definitely go for like sundresses and stuff that is easy to change and comfortable for her to run around in.

QUESTION:
Spring Time Baby & Toddler Clothes?
i buy baby and toddler clothing and then sell them on eBay. i'd appreciate some opinions from the parents out there.what do you like to dress your child in during the spring time??
what brands do you usually buy?? (gymboree, carter's, calvin klein, etc....)thank you!! ♥

ANSWER:
I like shirts and pants or shorts. I don't mind onesies, but they aren't my preference and my baby doesn't wear them without pants or shorts. I buy gymboree, osh kosh, and carters. Once he gets older I like children's place, but not for baby clothes.
